China 2026 Spring Festival: Scenic Spots & Jiuzhaigou Grow

Final Day of Holiday Sees No Let-Up in Scenic Spot Popularity, Double-Digit Growth in Visitor Numbers

Even on February 23, the last day of the holiday, many popular scenic spots remained bustling with visitors. Pengpai News noted that numerous scenic areas issued crowd control notices that day due to high visitor volumes.

Dujiangyan Scenic Area announced that as of 15:05 on February 23, the number of visitors had reached the maximum capacity, prompting the scenic area to suspend ticket sales temporarily to improve the visitor experience.

Tangmo Scenic Area also reported that by 15:50 on the same day, its visitor reception volume was nearly saturated, and crowd control measures were activated.

Some scenic spots even remained popular after the holiday ended. Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area revealed that as of 10:00 on February 23, 23,000 tickets for February 24 (the day after the holiday) had been booked, reaching the maximum capacity.

Data released by multiple scenic spots showed a strong start to the Year of the Horse for China’s tourism market during the Spring Festival holiday.

Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area reported that it received a total of 182,700 visitors during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 17.70%.
