Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Sichuan Province, JiuzhaiValley literally means “Nine-Village Valley”. It is named after the nine ancient Tibetan villages scattered throughout the park.
If you ask what makes JiuzhaiValley so special, the answer is definitely the water. There is a famous saying in China: “After returning from JiuzhaiValley, you won’t want to look at any other water.”
The valley is filled with hundreds of crystal-clear lakes, which the locals lovingly call “Haizi”, meaning “sons of the sea”.
These lakes are like magic mirrors. Depending on the depth of the water and the reflections of the surrounding forests, they display unbelievable colors: emerald green, turquoise blue, and even vibrant orange in autumn.
But it’s not just about the peaceful lakes. You will also see spectacular waterfalls rushing down the cliffs, ancient primeval forests, and snow-capped peaks shining in the distance.
Stepping into JiuzhaiValley feels like walking directly into a beautiful oil painting. It brings a deep sense of peace to your soul.
