Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area has resumed full opening on September 27, 2024 after two years of post-disaster reconstruction. Thereafter, the operating hours and ticket prices of the scenic spot are adjusted as follows:
Jiuzhaigou Opening hours
Regular hours (from April 1, 2025):
Entry time: 8:00-14:00 (after 14:00 stop entering the park), there are many friends more than 2:00 in the afternoon, still running to the scenic area, which basically have to eat the closed door.
Closing time: 18:00.
“May Day” holiday (2025):
Entry time is adjusted to 8:00-14:00, closing time is still 18:00. It is recommended that you arrive at 7:30 in the morning to avoid the tour group crowd, which is the peak time for tour groups to enter the park.
Jiuzhaigou Ticket Information
Peak Season Ticket Price (from April 1, 2025): Jiuzhaigou is in peak season from April to November every year, the main reason is that the Jiuzhaigou weather becomes very comfortable during this time, and the price will be adjusted during the peak season.
Tickets are 190RMB per person and sightseeing bus tickets are 90RMB per person, totaling about $40. Don’t mind the price, I have compared the price of annual passes to the US national parks, and it is actually super cost-effective!
Tickets need to be purchased through official channels with real-name reservations.
Jiuzhaigou Transportation Updates
National Highway 544 Sichuan-Jiu Road has been fully restored on April 29, 2025, making it easier for self-driving tourists to get to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu, and shortening the total driving time by 2 hours.
If you don’t want to drive, the high-speed train from Chengdu East Railway Station to Huanglong Jiuzhaigou Station only takes 2 hours, and it’s super convenient to transfer to the scenic bus out of the station.
Since Jiuzhaigou reopened on September 27, 2024, the operation has been normalized, and the recent adjustments mainly involve peak season hours and ticket prices, so tourists need to pay attention to reservations and staggered tours.
